As a Professional Staff Nurse , you’ll play a key role in supporting patients as they transition from surgery to recovery—applying your expertise, autonomy, and critical thinking to deliver safe, high-quality postoperative care. You’ll join a team that values partnership, communication, and continuous development.

This position features rotating shifts with limited weekends, nights, and call , offering flexibility while keeping variety in your schedule.

What You’ll Do

Support Patients in Their Most Vulnerable Moments

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate recovery care in the PACU.

  • Collaborate closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary care team to achieve seamless transitions.

Build Strong & Supportive Relationships

  • Develop productive working relationships with colleagues, patients, and families.

  • Model accountability, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellent patient care.

  • Promote a healthy work-life balance and safe work habits.

Educate & Empower

  • Teach patients and families about postoperative expectations and next steps.

  • Support students, new hires, and peers through mentoring and precepting.

  • Foster a culture of open communication, feedback, and continuous learning.

Deliver Exceptional, Patient-Centered Care

  • Apply the nursing process and Relationship-Based Care principles to individualize care plans.

  • Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and communication skills to advocate for patient needs.

  • Ensure comprehensive, clear documentation to support seamless care.

Lead, Learn & Grow Professionally

  • Engage in shared governance and unit-based decision-making.

  • Participate in change initiatives to strengthen the PACU practice environment.

  • Support and collaborate with team members as a fully engaged partner.

Elevate Quality & Safety

  • Contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction and care outcomes.

  • Use evidence-based practice to guide clinical decision-making.
