Phone Canvasser with Kids Count On Us
a project of ISAIAH
Hourly, full-time, 2-weeks temporary position
$25/hour

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Phone Canvasser will be part of a team of ten people who will call childcare centers and family childcare providers across the state to survey childcare programs/directors on the challenges they are facing and invite them to connect with our Kids Count on Us project using a prepared script.

Canvassers will uphold the mission of ISAIAH to work in pursuit of a just economy and a democracy that honors the dignity and worth of people across race, faith, and class. 

The ideal starting date for this position is mid-late July.

How will you know if you're a good fit for this?
Ideal candidates:

• are personable and able to engage in relational conversations with people they do not know over the phone,
• have excellent listening skills, and
• have the technical skills necessary to complete and track calls. 

How will we know you're a good fit?/
Ideal candidates:

• Can follow step-by-step instructions with attention to detail,
• Know your way around basic tools like Zoom, smartphones, and Google Docs,
• Can work in-person and use their personal phones,
• Can work independently while asking questions when you need help, and 
• Are able to commit to a full-time schedule for two weeks starting mid- to late-July.

Kids Count on Us is a coalition of over 500 childcare providers and centers across Minnesota organizing together for a childcare system that is affordable and accessible for all families, high-quality for all kids, and compensates teachers fairly. 

ISAIAH, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is a vehicle for multi-racial, multi-faith coalitions across Minnesota to act collectively and powerfully towards racial and economic equity in MN by addressing both local and regional community issues. Together, we have more than 100 member and partner churches and mosques, more than 25 barbershops, and more than 200 childcare centers who work to promote a caring economy and a multi-racial democracy that honors every person’s dignity. We do this work through intentional, intensive leadership development, collective action, and deep partnerships with grassroots organizations and public servants.
