Industrial & Commercial Roofing Service Department Manager

Cotterman & Company Inc., an employee-owned industrial and commercial roofing contractor is seeking a full-time Service Department Manager to join our team at the Columbus Ohio location.

Position Overview

The Service Department Manager is responsible for:

• Overseeing service work orders, scheduling, and prioritization.
• Building strong customer relationships and ensuring effective communication and client retention.
• Supporting and training service technicians to maintain quality workmanship and safety standards.
• Conducting quality control and safety audits to uphold company and OSHA standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Work Order Management: Schedule and prioritize work orders, ensuring work orders are addressed promptly, and keeping customers informed of progress.

· Customer Focus: Serve as the primary contact for clients, fostering relationships, addressing concerns, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction to retain existing customers.

· Team Development: Assist in training and mentoring service technicians to enhance performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.

· Quality and Safety Oversight: Conduct quality control and safety audits to ensure all work meets company guidelines and OSHA regulations.

· Collaboration: Work closely with other departments for scheduling, manpower needs, and site evaluations.

· Documentation: Utilize company software to manage work orders, track progress, and maintain accurate records.

· Other Duties: Perform other tasks or attend meetings as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and customer service experience.
• Background in commercial roofing, construction, or service management.
• Ability to manage a team, handle multiple priorities, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Ability to use electronic devices such as cell phones, tablets, email, and other software as needed.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
