A Day in the Life of a Hygienist at Phoenix Dental Partners

Here’s what a typical day might look like:

• Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time to prepare for a smooth day ahead

• Collaborate with a team of motivated, friendly dental professionals

• Provide care to a diverse patient population with a wide range of needs

• Work in an office that values positivity, continuous improvement, and patient comfort

• Deliver care that reflects our value of compassion, treating every patient like family

• Create a welcoming and stress-free clinical experience for every patient

• Use [insert dental software or tools used] to perform cleanings, chart, and support treatment planning

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleanings and remove plaque, stains, and calculus from teeth and below gumlines

• Conduct oral cancer screenings by examining lymph nodes and soft tissues

• Review and update patient medical histories

• Document and report signs of dental disease and decay

• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventative care

• Sterilize and sharpen dental instruments according to protocol

• Collaborate closely with dentists on exams and treatment plans

• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program

• Valid state hygiene license

• Current CPR certification

• Hepatitis B immunization up to date

• Licensed to administer local anesthetics and operate X-ray equipment

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• A passion for patient care and staying up to date on oral health best practices
