Job Description

The Content Strategist is a content expert who plays a pivotal role in developing and executing high impact content strategies that drive engagement, brand awareness, and conversions for our clients. As a key member of the content strategy team, you excel in storytelling and trend forecasting and thrive in highly collaborative environments. You will lead creator strategy and execution, develop compelling content strategies, produce lo-fi quick-turn content, write and optimize messaging for social SEO, and leverage historical and real-time social trends to inform content briefs. Collaborating closely with creative teams, content creators, strategists, and account managers, you will ensure all content aligns with client goals, best practices, and evolving trends.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead tactical and brainstorm discussions in partnership with Art Directors, collaborating with Accounts and Strategy team members to translate client briefs into smart, innovative content strategies. Offer strategic content thought starters to be leveraged during internal and external brainstorming sessions.
  • Lead creator shortlisting, outreach, contracting and execution for social media projects. Review creator content and provide feedback.
  • Use your love of language to creatively shape campaigns, crafting everything from campaign names and concept write-ups to content ideas based on specific themes.
  • In partnership with Art Directors, present creative concepts and content approaches to clients where needed.
  • Co-create editorial calendars in partnership with Account Managers and Project Managers.
  • Optimize content for searchability, engagement, and performance by leveraging social SEO techniques and trending topics.
  • Conduct in-depth content research, including competitor messaging and content trend tracking, to inform content strategies.
  • Review and provide feedback on creative deliverables throughout the execution phase, ensuring clarity, relevance, and alignment with client goals.
  • In partnership with Accounts and Project Managers, oversee content calendars and publishing schedules to ensure timely execution of strategic content.
  • Attend client kickoffs to assess goals and objectives, ensuring content strategies are aligned from the start.
  • Use insights as shared from the Strategy department to refine content, gauge larger performance trends and to  maximize reach, engagement, and conversions.
  • Stay up to date on content trends and evolving platform features to identify new opportunities for Account Managers to pitch to clients.
  • Contribute to agency-wide knowledge, by sharing research on content trends, industry shifts, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in social media content strategy, content creation, copywriting, or a related field, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Wrike (or similar project management tools).
  • Hands-on experience with lo-fi content creation and a strong understanding of content best practices across platforms.
  • Proficiency in social SEO and understanding data and analytics to optimize content approach for stronger performance.
